That was as good as it got for the hosts though, as Chelsea held on for a vital three points.Brighton, who stay 13th in the league, are still looking for their first win over the Blues in any competition since January 1933.

Hazard’s skill and movement to set up Chelsea’s opener underlined why he is regarded as one of the best players in the top flight. Without him the Blues looked lost and lacked any kind of urgency in the closing stages.
